Job Summary
Join our team in Portland, a vibrant city in Oregon known for its eco-friendliness, coffee culture, and impressive arts scene. We also have open positions in Denver, CO, Tempe, AZ, and Moon Township, PA. Remote work options are available for the right candidates. As an Electrical Design Technician, you will contribute to design documentation and manage Revit BIM models in collaboration with BIM leads and team members from various disciplines. This role offers an opportunity to demonstrate your expertise in Revit while working under the guidance of telecom discipline or project leads.
Responsibilities
- Set up and manage Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members.
- Create and manage content for fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines (C, S, A, M, E, P, T, I, L).
- Produce 2D construction drawings.
- Collaborate with designers, discipline leads, architects, and engineers to ensure design intent is translated into constructible deliverables, including clash-free 3D models.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications systems design and construction industry.
- Growing understanding of how codes and standards influence design decisions.
- Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections related to circuits or links between devices and equipment.
- Experience adhering to client design and modeling standards.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
- Willingness to learn new things.
Preferred:
- At least 3 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience.
- Understanding of data center environments.
- Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom, and audio-visual systems.
- Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarms, access control, and CCTV (Closed Circuit Television).
- Knowledge of control systems, network components, and topology.
