Job Description
- Job Title:Electrical Designer
- Work Location:Fully remote position
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Employment Status:Exempt, salaried
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Must reside in the United States.
- We are not accepting applicants for remote workers in California, Illinois, and New York at this time.
- Gather customer electrical specifications for design incorporation and engineering review.
- Develop engineering drawings, layouts, BOMs, and installation documentation to support deployment of COLM solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with Cutsforth standards, safety practices, and industry-recognized reliability engineering principles.
- Lead or attend project scope definition meetings
- Provide input on design scheduling and prioritization
- Identify project design risks
- Provide technical input during customer meetings, design reviews, and internal cross-functional discussions
- Understand not only the electrical connectivity of Cutsforth system but also understand how to commission and operate the systems.
- Troubleshoot system functionality both from the physical wiring perspective and from an I/O perspective.
- Travel to the site to provide implantation/commissioning support as needed.
- Maintain familiarity with ISO9001 quality management systems
- Ensure documentation supports long term reliability and compliance
- Prepare customer facing reports and professional documentation
- Respond to client inquiries and provide technical justifications
- At least an associate’s degree in the field of instrumentation & controls, electronics, reliability or another related field.
- 3-5 years of experience working in a power plant or similar industrial setting
- Highly proficient in 2D electrical diagram, creating editing and interpretation
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- A mastery of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel for the purposes of preparing professional, customer facing communications and reports.
- Strong task and project management skills to ensure consistency in workflow and record keeping.
- Experience and familiarity with web presentation and video conferencing solutions
- Adept at identifying customer needs and challenges
- 3+ years of experience contributing to technical, industrial projects with proficiency in electrical and controls projects.
- Experience with power plant operations and maintenance.
- Experience and familiarity with web presentations and video conferencing solutions.
- Successfully pass background check for cybersecurity access requirements.
- Candidate will be responsible for reviewing policies and procedures related to cybersecurity and those relevant to the functions of their role.
- Candidate is expected to maintain a cybersecure work environment.
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use hands to type, handle products, tools and navigate a computer keyboard.
- Must be able to view computer screen for extended periods of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
