TowerPinkster, an architecture, engineering, and interior design firm based in Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky, is looking for a talented skilled Electrical Designer. This position is responsible for the design of electrical systems for projects, efficient management of assigned projects, and coordination of project teams according to schedule.Position expectations and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the lead engineer and participate in the design of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, coordinate with technology group for data and communication infrastructure, fire alarm, and nurse call to meet owner/client needs and code requirements.
- Provide assessment of existing building systems and report back to owner with recommendations on needed maintenance, available savings and/or rebates for upgrades.
- Provide electrical engineer design solutions, calculations, design documents, specifications, and project communications.
- Provide follow-through for designs: construction correspondence, observation, punch listing and close out.
- Participate, where requested, in client meetings.
- Coordinate your work with all disciplines and consultants.
- Review submittals, RFIs, and contractor proposed change orders.
- Adhere to project budgeted time and schedule.
- Collaborate with the team to share experiences, knowledge, skills, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Mentor and train entry-level designers across multiple offices.
- Assist with electrical specifications.
- Bachelor of Science in an Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering accredited program.
- 15 plus years of industry experience.
- Strong understanding of commercial building electrical systems.
- Experience with an A/E or MEP consulting firm is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in Revit software, lighting calculation software and proficiency in spreadsheet is preferred.
