Job Description:
- Job responsibilities include collaborating with project teams to understand design requirements and objectives.
- Develop physical designs producing 3D models and design drawings, including system layouts, utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD) to create and modify electrical drawings.
- Maintain proficiency in design software and stay updated on software enhancements, or other applications.
- Extensive 3D modeling experience is strongly preferred.
- Ensuring that electrical designs adhere to industry standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct code reviews and updates, as necessary.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers and architects, to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.
- Addressing design-related issues and provide design solutions.
- Creating and maintaining organized documentation of electrical designs, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Preparing technical reports and documentation for project deliverables.
- Performing site walk-downs for field verification and to address constructability, and performing quality checks and reviews of electrical designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project goals.
- Skillsets and expertise required for this position include experience as an Electrical Designer or a similar role, with proficiency in CAD software.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality designs.
- Ability to collaborate within a team and with project stakeholders, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
