Overview

Electrical and electronics engineers design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacturing of electrical and electronic equipment, including broadcast and communications systems, electric motors, machinery controls, lighting, and wiring in buildings, automobiles, aircraft, radar and navigation systems, and transmission devices used by electric utilities. Electrical and electronics engineers work closely with computers. Electrical and electronics engineers specialize in different areas such as power generation, transmission, distribution, communications, and electrical equipment manufacturing. Electrical and electronics engineers design new products, write performance requirements, and develop maintenance schedules. They also test equipment, solve operating problems, and estimate the time and cost of engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Circuit Card Assemblies, including printed circuit card layout, trace specification, discrete item selection, Gerber file management, and coordination with industry manufacturing partners.
  • Design and reverse engineer power systems IAW National Electric Code guidelines. Calculate and simulate electrical load budgets, load balancing, wiring specifications, circuit protection, filters, conduit systems, and termination of single and three-phase power systems.
  • Create interconnection diagrams, single-line diagrams, and multi-line diagrams of electrical systems.
  • Design products resistant to the effect of Electromagnetic Interference, and Transient Electromagnetic Pulse Emanation (TEMPEST), if applicable.
  • Develop, test, and supervise the manufacture of military-grade cable harnesses, chassis wiring, and Radio Frequency cabling.
  • Reverse engineer and design digital and analog electronics systems.
  • Design and fabricate interface devices for testing electronic components and assemblies.
  • Utilize scanning, microscopic inspection, and other methods to reverse engineer Printed Circuit Boards and electronic assemblies
  • Utilize software to Layout Circuit Card Assemblies and Printed Circuit Boards.
  • Design Automated Test Equipment (ATE) hardware and software for the testing of obsolete assemblies and electronic prototypes.
  • Utilize Computer-Aided Engineering to test the propagation of communication and antenna systems.
  • Conduct signal flow analysis for Circuit Card Assemblies, Printed Circuit Boards, and Radio Frequency Systems.
  • Utilize electronic test equipment to analyze, troubleshoot, and reverse engineer electronic components.
  • Conduct design and stability analysis for control systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's level degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • 3 years of experience with one or more of the following: DoD power generation, transmission, distribution, communications, and electrical equipment manufacturing.
  • Active Secret Clearance walking through the door. Top Secret eligibility preferred.

Basic Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000 yearly salary

The salary range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The final offer may vary based on skills, experience, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity. Additional compensation may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. We do not use salary history to determine compensation, in line with applicable law.
