Electrical Engineer Low Voltage Power & ControlsPosition SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to support the design, analysis, implementation, and commissioning of low-voltage (LV) electrical power distribution and control systems. The ideal candidate will possess experience in electrical system design, industrial automation, power distribution, control panel engineering, and project execution. This role involves developing electrical designs, performing engineering studies, supporting field commissioning activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and customer specifications.The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, safe, and cost-effective electrical solutions for industrial, commercial, manufacturing, data center, and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop low-voltage electrical power distribution systems up to 1000V AC, including switchboards, switchgear, panelboards, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, and control panels.
- Create electrical one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring schematics, interconnection diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedules using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Revit MEP, or similar CAD platforms.
- Perform electrical calculations including load studies, voltage drop analysis, fault current calculations, breaker sizing, conductor sizing, and equipment selection.
- Conduct short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies using ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or equivalent software.
- Select and specify electrical equipment including circuit breakers, contactors, relays, VFDs, transformers, CTs, PTs, protective devices, and control components.
- Develop control system architectures and automation solutions using PLCs, HMIs, industrial communication networks, and SCADA interfaces.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems for industrial and facility automation applications.
- Design and review motor control circuits, automation panels, safety interlock systems, and control logic diagrams.
- Support integration of electrical equipment with field instrumentation, sensors, actuators, and communication devices.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), equipment specifications, procurement packages, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities.
- Perform field investigations and support root cause analysis for electrical system issues.
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and vendor documentation for compliance with project requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and customers.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and applicable electrical codes and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- 3+ years of experience in low-voltage electrical system design, controls engineering, power distribution, or industrial automation.
- Experience designing electrical distribution systems up to 1000V AC.
- Knowledge of motor control systems, MCCs, VFDs, control panels, and industrial automation systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Revit MEP, or equivalent design software.
- Experience performing electrical studies using ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or similar software.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and HMI development platforms.
- Strong understanding of electrical equipment selection and power distribution principles.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
