Role Scope
Engineer substation designs for campus interconnection: HV yards and MV distribution substations in the reference design.
Own the physical and electrical design: layouts, bus configurations, and equipment specs to utility standards.
Interface with utilities and consultants: requirements translated into designs that pass review the first time.
Standardize the substation: one design stamped across sites instead of bespoke yards.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've designed HV substations: physical, one-line, and protection interfaces.
You've taken substation packages through utility review.
You specify transformers, breakers, and switchgear at transmission class.
You've supported substation construction and energization.
You productize designs rather than redrawing them.
Bonus: 138kV-plus experience. Grounding studies (IEEE 80). GIS substations. Interconnection processes.
