Overview
Job Description
- Apply engineering principles to design, develop, and test electrical systems and equipment.
- Develop technical documentation, drawings, and specifications in accordance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and engineers from multiple disciplines to ensure integration and accuracy across design packages.
- Provide technical input and troubleshooting support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, safety, and design standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEEE).
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of complex tasks requiring creativity, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in electrical design, facility systems, or industrial project environments.
- Master’s degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
- DOE Q-Clearance preferred or ability to obtain.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Skilled in managing multiple priorities and resolving conflicts in fast-paced settings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint).
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other electrical design software is a plus.
