Job Description

Electrical Engineer III• Bakersfield, CA• 12+ Month Contract • Pay: 83.20/hr, W 2

Minimum of 7 years of experience in Transmission & Distribution substation engineering for electric utilities specifically Client and renewable energy power plants and projects experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in substation type applications, including primary (outdoor) physical substation design and required studies.

Responsibilities:

Produce power single line drawings, substation plan, and elevation drawings.
Develop general substation arrangement and layout, equipment erection drawings, and construction details.
Create layouts for high voltage bus, cable, high voltage equipment, conduit, cable, and wiring.
Design auxiliary power, grounding, and control building layouts.

Requirements:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in Transmission & Distribution substation engineering for electric utilities and renewable energy power plants.
Experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in substation type applications, including primary (outdoor) physical substation design and required studies.
In-depth experience applying High Voltage substation North American standards & guidelines (IEEE & ANSI standards and codes such as the NEC and the NESC), local Grid Codes, and related equipment (safety, application, sizing, and integration).
Experience with both AIS/GIS.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (BSEE preferred).
Professional Engineering license in the Company States or a plan to obtain PE license within a certain period, with willingness to review and seal your work and the work of others under your supervision.
