Job Description

Podium Automation is an early-stage startup reimagining industrial control panel manufacturing through software-enabled design and automated fabrication. We’re building technology to create a new industrial supply chain and reduce lead times for critical electrical equipment from months to days. We are growing rapidly in NYC and are backed by a16z’s American Dynamism fund, SV Angel, and Banter Capital.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to work across control panel design, test and build. You will have the opportunity to work across the end-to-end process in a variety of operations from electrical design to enclosure modification through final testing.

What You’ll Do

  • Build out Podium’s component database and standardized symbol library

  • Test, implement, and provide feedback on new software tools that help speed up the schematic creation process

  • Panel assembly including enclosure modification, component mounting, wiring, and inspection

  • Testing new methods to help improve the speed and quality of the panels Podium builds

Required for this role

  • Must have completed 2 years of study in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field and be actively pursuing a 4-year engineering degree.

  • Understanding of electrical fundamentals (AC vs DC voltage, function of overcurrent protection devices, sizing of wiring)

  • Available to work in-person in Brooklyn, NY (in person, 5 days/week, minimum of 8 consecutive weeks)

Nice to have

  • Mechanically inclined and experience doing light sheet metal modification work (drilling and tapping holes, knockouts for conduits, cutting openings for panel mounted devices)

  • Experience working in a UL 508A panel shop or with industrial control panels

  • Familiar with DTM, E3, EPLAN, or AutoCAD Electrical
