JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position's main responsibility will be quoting electrical retrofits, equipment upgrades, safety systems, solutions for obsolete parts, and other quote-related projects and processes. The qualified candidate will provide technical support to internal departments and external customers by answering questions regarding retrofits, upgrades, equipment capabilities, controls systems, and machine functionality.

The successful candidate must possess a strong understanding of industrial control systems, including PLC programming and troubleshooting, to evaluate upgrade opportunities and develop effective solutions for customers. This position will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, and customers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and met for both quotations and project execution.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as this role requires frequent interaction with customers, preparation of technical documentation, quote development, and coordination across multiple departments. This position offers a hybrid work environment, and candidates must be able to reliably commute to Franklin, WI.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quotations for electrical components, upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment packages based on customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers regarding equipment functionality, replacement parts, system capabilities, and upgrade opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately defined and fulfilled.
  • Review customer specifications and technical requirements to develop accurate pricing, proposals, and technical solutions.
  • Support order processing activities, including order review, status tracking, lead time management, and customer communications.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend appropriate equipment, software, electrical, or mechanical solutions.
  • Utilize engineering and programming knowledge to support equipment functionality, system integration, automation, and product enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, specifications, customer records, and equipment survey programs.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects focused on continuous improvement, cost reduction, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth.
  • Assist with customer visits, audits, equipment evaluations, and field support activities as required.
  • Coordinate with Service teams regarding installations, warranty issues, upgrades, and field service requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for additional products, services, upgrades, and replacement parts to meet customer needs.
  • Maintain effective relationships with customers and serve as a technical resource throughout the sales and order fulfillment process.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required. Associate degree (2-year) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field, or 10+ years of electrical controls experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and industrial automation systems.

  • Understanding of electrical controls, machine automation, and equipment upgrades.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet or exceed deadlines.

  • Ability to analyze technical information and develop cost-effective solutions.

  • Occasional travel (up to 5% annually).

  • Packaging industry experience preferred.

  • SAP experience is a plus.
