Evergreen Innovation Group (EIG), part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an Electrical Estimator with a strong background in renewable energy systems, including microgrid solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

The Electrical Estimator will support the development and delivery of renewable and clean energy projects across utility-scale, commercial, and advanced technology markets. This role focuses on negotiated work and early engagement, collaborating closely with owners, developers, engineers, and trade partners to deliveraccurate, creative, and value-driven project estimates that align with EIG’s mission and long-term sustainability goals.

Estimators will play a critical role from early conceptual budgeting through project handoff, supporting projects that advance energy resiliency, decarbonization, and grid modernization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates an understanding of, and strong alignment with, EIG’s vision, mission, and commitment to sustainable and renewable energy solutions.

  • Manages projects frominitialconceptualestimatethrough finalestimate, projectaward, andhandoffto operations.

  • Prepares detailed cost estimates for renewable energy projects, including solar PV systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electrical balance of plant, and interconnection infrastructure.

  • Develops conceptual budgets, feasibility studies, and early-stage cost modeling from schematic-level documentation.

  • Proactivelyidentifiesscope gaps, clarifies assumptions, and asks the right questions to deliver a complete andaccurateproject cost evaluation.

  • Collaborates closely with customers, developers, architects, engineers, and internal teams to guide cost-informed design decisions and project strategies.

  • Provides innovative estimating solutions to complex challenges related to equipment procurement, long lead times, interconnection requirements, permitting, and constructability.

  • Maintains a strong understanding of unit costs specific to renewable systems, including PV modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, energy storage equipment, and associated installation labor.

  • Developsvariance analyses, value engineering options, and cost comparisons as designs evolve.

  • Prepares complete and professional estimate packages and presentations that clearly communicate project costs, risks, and opportunities.

  • Supports staffing and execution planning in collaboration with operations and project teams.

  • Develops bid packages, instructions to bidders, scope clarifications, and technical exhibits specific to renewable and electrical scopes of work.

  • Manages the bidding process, including solicitingsubcontractorand vendor pricing, evaluating proposals, and assembling bid tallies.

  • Makes subcontractor and vendor award recommendations;participatesin negotiations andfinalizesscopes with trade partners.

  • Activelyparticipatesin, and may lead, cost and budget presentations for owners, developers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Supports proposal development efforts (RFPs, RFQs), including estimating narratives and participation in formal presentations.

  • Builds andmaintainsrelationships with renewable energy customers, developers, and industry partners.

  • Activelyparticipatesin value engineering and constructability reviews with design and project teams tooptimizecost, schedule, and performance.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements.

  • Detail-oriented team player capable of managing multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present cost information confidently and clearly.

  • Creative and innovative mindset, particularly in developing cost-effective renewable and clean energy solutions.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external partners.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with electrical takeoff and estimating tools (AccubidAnywhere,AccubidClassic,LiveCount, or similar).

  • Familiarity with BIM and digital tools (Revit, Assemble, or similar), project management platforms (CMiCor similar), and scheduling software is preferred.

  • Familiarity with PV Energy and Financial Modeling tools (Helioscope, PVSYST, EnergyToolbase, or similar)

  • Familiarity with Procore

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical construction estimating, with preference given to experience in renewable energy projects such as solar PV, battery energy storage, or utility/interconnection work.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not.

  • Field experience on renewable or electrical infrastructure projects is a plus.

  • Experience with Design/Build and Design/Assist delivery methods is a plus.

  • Familiarity with NEC requirements, utility standards, and interconnection processes related to renewable energy is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Ability to travel to and from the office andassignedproject sites as needed.

Anticipated starting pay range:

$83,231.00- $156,949.00
