Electrical Estimator

Location: Havre De Grace MD Job Type: Full-Time

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to support residential and commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project plans, and supporting the bid process. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of electrical estimating experience across residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare estimates
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Develop accurate and competitive project bids and proposals
  • Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimating tools
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential project risks

Requirements

  • 3+ years of electrical estimating experience (residential and commercial)
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background as an electrician or field experience
  • Experience with both ground-up and renovation projects
  • Knowledge of local codes and industry standards
