Electrical Field Service Technician

Electrical Field Service Technician Location: Whitsett, NC (with 70-85% domestic & international travel) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Field Service Technician to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and ongoing service of high?speed packaging machinery. This role requires strong electrical troubleshooting skills, PLC experience, and the ability to work independently in customer environments. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, customer?focused, and comfortable traveling to support complex equipment in the field. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled maintenance visits to ensure stable machine operation and optimal performance Install, commission, and start up new packaging machinery at customer sites Provide operator and maintenance training to customer personnel Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electromechanical issues on packaging equipment Perform electrical upgrades and retrofits on existing machines Modify and support PLC and HMI programs as required Provide first?level remote technical support to customers Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Use diagnostic tools, including multimeters, to identify and resolve electrical faults Maintain clear, professional communication with customers to understand needs and ensure service satisfaction Travel as required for service calls, installations, and training assignments Required Education & Experience Associate degree or technical certificate in Industrial Automation, Industrial Electronics, or a related technical field Minimum of 2 years of experience with packaging equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair Minimum of 2 years of hands?on electrical experience, specifically supporting industrial or packaging machinery Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in PLC programming, particularly Allen?Bradley systems Experience with frequency drives and servo drives Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits using a multimeter Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Proficient with electrical hand tools (wire strippers, cutters, crimpers) Working knowledge of mechanical hand tools (wrenches, drills, punches, tapping tools) Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong customer?service mindset Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus) Valid driver’s license required Ability to obtain and maintain a passport for international travel Eligibility for rental car contracts and overnight travel Compensation & Benefits Stable, long?term employment opportunity Medical and dental insurance Short?term disability insurance Company?paid life insurance and long?term disability coverage 401(k) retirement plan and additional benefits 18 paid vacation days and 11 paid holidays $30/hr Per diem and travel stipend while traveling Comprehensive technical training, including training at international headquarters in Germany #DHIR26
