We are seeking an experienced Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Superintendent to provide on-site leadership for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems on a major industrial mining project. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension based on project needs. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with proven leadership skills to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise all electrical, instrumentation, and controls activities on site.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of electricians, instrument technicians, and controls specialists.
- Ensure work complies with project specifications, industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Oversee installation, testing, calibration, and commissioning of electrical and control systems.
- Collaborate with project engineers, planners, and management to resolve technical and operational challenges.
- Plan and manage schedules, manpower, materials, and subcontractors to meet project milestones.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, enforce compliance, and foster a strong safety culture on site.
- Prepare progress reports, documentation, and status updates for management.
Work Details:
- Location: On-site in Idaho
- Schedule: 3 weeks on / 1 week off
- Flights and accommodations provided
- Contract duration: 12 months, with potential extension based on project requirements
This role offers the opportunity to lead a critical discipline on a high-profile mining project, ensuring technical excellence and operational success.
Requirements
- Journeyperson or Master Electrician license preferred; strong background in instrumentation and controls.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, and controls on industrial or heavy construction projects.
- Proven experience in a superintendent or leadership role, managing crews on-site.
- Extensive knowledge of PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and industrial control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and instrumentation drawings.
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA standards, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; able to coordinate multiple trades.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and meeting project schedules.
- Experience in oil & gas, power generation, chemical, or manufacturing sectors;
- familiarity with US-based electrical and safety codes.
