Charter Casting is hiring an Electrical Maintenance Engineer Intern!

Program Structure:

  • Duration/Schedule: Flexible part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer months.
  • Location: Shawano - Onsite
  • Start Date: May 2026

What We’re Looking For:

  • Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Engineering or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to succeed in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.        

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • AutoCAD experience.        

What You’ll Focus On:

  • Preventive Maintenance Planning: participate in daily maintenance planning meetings.
  • Help schedule and execute preventive maintenance tasks, gaining insight into reliability engineering and asset management.
  • Data-Driven Problem Solving: collect and analyze downtime and performance data. Use real-world metrics to support decisions on maintenance priorities and improvements.
  • CMMS Interaction, Update, and manage work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Learn how digital tools support maintenance workflows and asset tracking.
  • Safety Walkthroughs & Compliance Checks: join safety inspections and learn how OSHA standards are applied in an industrial setting. Help document findings and support corrective actions.
  • Preventive Maintenance Optimization: Analyze current PM schedules and recommend improvements based on downtime data, equipment history and OEM documentation.
  • CMMS Enhancement: Assist in updating and organizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to improve tracking and reporting.
