The Role: Comprehensive Systems Design
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in the full electrical lifecycle of building projects. You will:
- Design & Layout: Develop conceptual site and building layouts for lighting, power distribution, data, and fire alarm systems.
- Model with Precision: Utilize AutoCAD MEP and Revit to bring designs to life, ensuring every detail meets project objectives.
- Perform Critical Calculations: Conduct supporting calculations to ensure designs conform to all local, state, and federal building codes.
- Lead Deliverables: Prepare technical specifications, construction cost estimates, and organize high-quality submittal packages.
- Oversee Construction: Perform site visits, conduct inspections, and review equipment submittals to ensure design integrity from start to finish.
- Mentor & Grow: As your experience progresses, you will train less experienced team members in technical design and company procedures.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit is essential.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to effectively interact with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to recognize technical challenges early and initiate corrective actions.
Preferred Expertise (The "Stand-Out" Skills)
- Credentials: A valid PE or EIT license (or the ability to obtain licensure in Virginia).
- Specialized Software: Experience with SpecLink, Visual 2012, Power Tools, or ETAP modeling software.
