Job Description
The Electrical Resident Engineer selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in resident engineering in water and wastewater facilities that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for an Electrical Resident Engineer that has 10+ years of experience in construction phase for water and wastewater projects to work on-site and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the Orange County area.
Projects may include:
- Pump Station Replacement and Rehabilitation Projects
- Wastewater Treatment Plant Rehabilitation and Expansion Projects
- Utility Systems (I&C)
As an Electrical Resident Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Review project correspondence, submittals, construction documents, and technical reports; maintain clear communication with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Lead and support inspection and office engineering staff, ensuring quality assurance/quality control standards are met.
- Track work progress against the approved CPM schedule; identify and address delays or issues early.
- Review and discuss deviations in materials or procedures with the Engineer-In-Charge; provide technical guidance on construction methods and design.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the contractor and key stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Oversee daily site activities and provide technical advice to maintain compliance with plans and specifications.
- Review and approve submittals, payment applications, and change orders; prepare engineers’ estimates and schedules; negotiate contract modifications on behalf of the client.
- Participate in regular progress meetings with contractors and agency staff; document and report on project issues as needed.
