Job Description

About Mach Industries

Founded in 2022, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 220 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.

Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.

The Role

The Electronics Technician builds, tests, and troubleshoots wire harnesses and electrical subsystems used in turbine‑engine propulsion systems. This role focuses on high‑reliability harness fabrication, connector assembly, sensor integration, and electrical routing in high‑temperature, high‑vibration environments. The technician works closely with propulsion engineers, mechanical assembly teams, and test personnel to ensure all electrical components meet performance, durability, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build aerospace‑grade wire harnesses for turbine engines using crimping, soldering, heat‑shrink, and over‑braiding techniques.

  • Assemble connectors, terminals, and backshells (e.g., MIL‑spec, circular connectors, high‑temp connectors).

  • Route and secure harnesses within turbine engine assemblies, ensuring proper strain relief, clearance, and thermal protection.

  • Apply ESD‑safe practices and follow IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 or equivalent standards.

  • Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and load testing on harnesses and engine‑mounted sensors.

  • Diagnose wiring faults, connector issues, EMI/noise problems, and intermittent failures.

  • Support troubleshooting during engine test runs, including sensor signal validation and harness integrity checks.

  • Install harnesses on turbine engines, ensuring correct routing around hot sections, rotating assemblies, and vibration‑critical areas.

  • Integrate sensors (thermocouples, pressure transducers, RPM pickups, ignition systems) into propulsion modules.

  • Collaborate with mechanical technicians to coordinate harness placement during engine assembly.

  • Maintain accurate build logs, wiring diagrams, redlines, and traceability documentation.

  • Follow quality standards for aerospace‑grade electrical work, including torque specs, connector pinouts, and labeling.

  • Update work instructions and provide feedback to engineering on manufacturability and design improvements.

  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.

  • Support prototype builds and rapid design iterations.

  • Participate in root‑cause analysis for electrical failures during testing or field use.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience building wire harnesses, electrical assemblies, or avionics‑style wiring.

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and connector pinout tables.

  • Proficiency with crimp tools, soldering equipment, multimeters, and continuity testers.

  • Understanding of ESD safety, cable management, and electrical best practices.

  • Experience working in environments with heat, vibration, or rotating machinery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with turbine engines, aerospace propulsion, UAV systems, or defense electronics.

  • Familiarity with MIL‑spec connectors, high‑temp wiring, and braided harness construction.

  • Knowledge of IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, IPC‑J‑STD‑001, or similar standards.

  • Experience with sensor integration (thermocouples, pressure sensors, ignition systems).

  • Comfort working in prototype environments with rapidly evolving designs.
