Electrical Technician
Job Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment used in industrial manufacturing and cement production facilities. The position ensures maximum equipment reliability while maintaining compliance with company safety standards and all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical equipment.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems.
- Diagnose electrical failures and implement effective repair solutions to minimize downtime.
- Install, adjust, and maintain motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, relays, and instrumentation.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Assist with equipment commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities.
- Perform testing and calibration of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Support production teams by responding promptly to electrical issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and all CEMEX safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe work practices at all times.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Technical Degree in Electrical Technology or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience in cement manufacturing, mining, aggregates, or other heavy industrial environments preferred.
- Knowledge of:
- Power distribution systems (up to 4,160V preferred)
- PLC systems
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- AC/DC motors and controls
- Electrical instrumentation
- Preventive and predictive maintenance
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

- Industrial electrical troubleshooting.

Working Conditions
- Industrial manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May require overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-out
