Electrical Virtual Designer

Due to our continued growth and success, we are excited to expand our team! We are currently seeking an Electrical Virtual Designer to join our VDC/BIM team. This position will include applying building codes and engineering standards in a VDC/BIM coordination workflow. Developing 3-Dimensions construction drawings and interacting with our team’s customers and tradespeople allow applicants to be engaged and grow.

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Our VDC/BIM Team (Virtual Design and Construction / Building Information Modeling) is involved with creating, managing, and deploying 3D architectural models and content.

·         Understand and Implement Project Specifications.

·         Implement quality control process for completeness.

·         Learn and Utilize BIM drafting software:

o   Revit

o   Navisworks

o   AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD MEP 3D

·         Conveying project requirements to team members and other trades during in-person and virtual meetings.

·         Coordinating and resolving BIM clashes with other trade models.

·         Creating 2D plans and schedules for construction and fabrication.

·         Preparing construction submittals and details as needed for each project.

·         Attending meetings to address and creatively solve design and installation issues.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

·         In-depth working and practical knowledge of current Revit and AutoCAD MEP.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.

·         Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities.

·         Basic PC experience in Windows environments (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) along with web- enabled applications and database software.

·         Possess the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.

Education and Experience:

·         College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

·         5+ years of production experience in electrical design and drafting.
