Electrician - 1st Shift

Maintenance Department

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Location: Battle Creek, MI

We have an exciting opportunity for a problem solver, a change agent who is excited about taking Motus to the NEXT level. The Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on all manufacturing equipment. A successful candidate will have a sense of urgency with a safety mindset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including motors, control panels, lighting, power distribution, and machinery wiring
• Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices and methods
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, modifications, and inspections
• Assist with new equipment installation and facility upgrades
• Identify and recommend improvements for electrical systems and processes
• Work closely with maintenance and production teams to support plant operations
• Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements
• Respond to emergency electrical issues as needed, including potential overtime or on-call hours

REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to perform work responsibilities safety and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery
• Overtime (hours worked beyond 40 per week) is a required component of this role and is considered an essential job function.
• Valid Journeyman Electrician Card (Required)
• Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation a plus
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and organizational skills
