The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $39.00-$43.00/hour based on experience and education. Location & Schedule
In this position you can expect to work on site at Denver International Airport (parking is provided).
Shifts consist of four (4) 10-hour days, Sunday-Wednesday OR Wednesday-Saturday
The primary shift will be discussed in interview and can be any of the shifts listed below. Shifts are yearlong commitments and are subject to change based on operational need.
Day Shift: 0530-1530 (5:30 AM-3:30 PM)
Swing Shift: 1430-0100 (2:30 PM-1:00 AM)
Graveyard Shift: 1930-0600 (7:30 PM--6:00 AM)
Shifts are not guaranteed and are subject to change. 7%-12% pay differential depending on shift assigned.
Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges occur, weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occur, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays).
Participates in mandatory snow removal duties. Hours for On Call Snow Overtime: 3:30am to 3:30pm or 3:30pm to 3:30am.
Uniforms are provided along with a work boot allowance.
Mobile phone stipend.

Denver International Airport Facilities Electrical Maintenance team is looking for a talented Electrician I to perform electrical maintenance and repairs on all lights, receptacles, and airfield lighting throughout the entire 53 sq mile property. Our team works on various issues, from day-to-day preventative maintenance to emergency response and repair in various environments.
In this position, you can expect to:
Independently performs maintenance, alteration, and repair of electrical in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
Independently installs new electrical equipment and components as needed
Responds to electrical service or trouble calls, troubleshoots various problems/issues, and provides problem resolution
Prepares working sketches and works from blueprints, schematics, and written or verbal instructions.
Estimates materials, labor, and equipment costs
Maintains records and prepares daily activity reports
Adheres to all airport, FAA, OSHA, and company safety and environmental standards
Collaborate with other airport maintenance staff, airfield operations, and airline personnel to minimize downtime and operational disruptions
Participate in airport safety training, drills, and continuous improvement efforts
Participate in snow removal duties
Performs other related duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
Strong electrical background, with experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining lighting, lighting controls, AC power, DC power, EV power, and others related to airport systems
Effective communication, both verbal and written, for reporting issues to leadership, coordinating with both airport operations and airline stakeholders
High reliability and accountability, with a strong sense of ownership for assigned equipment and tasks
Professional and positive demeanor, especially when working around airline personnel, airport operations staff, and stakeholders alike
Strong focus on safety, compliance, and adherence to airport protocols and electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, OSHA)
Experience mentoring and developing junior electricians, as well as fostering a collaborative and skilled work environment
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals related to all types of electrical systems
At least 2 years of experience in construction, maintenance, or aviation-related electrical settings
Experience in aviation electrical systems, including airfield series constant current power
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate
Experience requirement: One (1) year of journey-level electrician experience maintaining, repairing, and constructing electrical systems and equipment
Education/Experience Equivalency: A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements
Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application
Requires a Journey Electrician's License issued by the State of Colorado or state-issued equivalent at the time of application
Licensure in another state with reciprocity may be accepted in place of this requirement, provided that the applicant has Colorado licensure at the completion of probation. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
