Job Description

Job Band: Electromechanic Craftsperson II

Location: Starr, SC

Pay Rate: $36.89

Schedule : 7:00 AM - 3:30PM Monday- Friday or Rotating Swing Shift Schedule

  • 1st Shift 7AM - 7:15PM
  • 3rd Shift 7PM - 7:15AM

  • 4-night shifts
  • 3 days off

FUNCTION:

Plans and performs operational maintenance to equipment and maintenance related equipment associated with plant operations. Operates and maintains tools, equipment, and facilities used in the performance of the Electro-Mechanical Craftsperson II. Leads, assists, trains, and performs the duties of the lower level Maintenance Persons. Responsible for the accomplishment of work performed by assigned apprentices within the multi-skill mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical crafts.

Pay Rate: $36.89 / $1.25 Shift Premium Working Rotation Schedule

  • I Shift Schedule- 7AM - 3:30PM
  • 1st Shift 7AM - 7:15PM
  • 3rd Shift 7PM - 7:15AM

DUTIES:

  • Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufactures specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, conveyor systems, production machines, and other production/support equipment.
  • Fabricates, installs, wires, welds, aligns, cuts, repairs, rebuilds, and replaces items, materials or equipment.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and corrects problems with equipment, controls, and utility systems.
  • Operates and maintains any tools, equipment, and facilities, tests assembled equipment for circuit continuity, resistance, and operational reliability, may use test instruments such as a multi meter, megohmmeter, oscilloscope, and an amp probe. Uses precision measuring equipment, such as micrometers.
  • Prepares work sites prior to performance of maintenance (including, but not limited to, degreasing, clean-up, erecting scaffolds, etc.).
  • Works from engineering drawings, line diagrams, schematics, field sketches, other related documents and verbal field instructions.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of any work areas or equipment problems or hazards.
  • Responds to production service calls.
  • Cooperates with production and other maintenance personnel to insure completion of maintenance with minimal equipment downtime and/or interruption of production operations.
  • Operates material handling equipment (including, but not limited to, hand trucks, motorized vehicles, forklift, etc.). Performs operator inspection of forklift on each shift; checks fluid levels and various forklift component systems for malfunctions; replenishes fuel supply. Completes daily vehicle inspection forms.
  • Completes records and reports (including, but not limited to, records of completed work, materials lists, manuals, worksheets, PM records, tags, inspection cards, downtime, store requisitions, data plotting, audit sheets, etc.).
  • Collects, analyzes, and plots equipment and process data. Operates and adjusts equipment based on data/charts specifications.
  • Inventories parts and equipment as assigned by supervisor. Requisitions and procures items from storeroom or other designated areas.
  • Leads, assists, trains, and performs the duties of the lower level maintenance craft apprentices under the direction and authority of the supervisor.
  • Participates in the safety and good housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
  • Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor.
  • EMCQ's specialize in one area based upon the needs of the company. The specialization will be in the following areas: Instrumentation, Machinist, or HVAC.

Special Qualifications:

Must pass assessment for EMCQ

Requirements:

Associate degree or Certification in Trades, Electromechanical, Maintenance Degree (OR) 3-4 yrs of experience.
