This role follows engineering procedures and processes to verify power supply module functionality, identifies workmanship and component issues, and screens systems for Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) and Solid State Power Amplifier (SSPA) compatibility.

This position works closely with Electronics Technicians, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Project Managers, and Customer Service to maintain production schedules, resolve technical issues, and improve product reliability.

HPA/HPM products are deployed globally in commercial, industrial, military, and rugged environments where reliability and performance are critical.

Successful candidates communicate effectively with engineers, technicians, and production personnel, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills. They are comfortable managing multiple priorities, adapting to changing schedules and requirements, and working collaboratively across cross-functional teams. A great fit is someone who can work independently with minimal supervision, use sound judgment when instructions or requirements are not fully defined, and take initiative to gather information, resolve issues, and deliver high-quality results.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform bench testing, screening, and troubleshooting of HPA/HPM power supply systems and modules.
  • Verify grounding, electrical integrity, functionality, and readiness for RF testing.
  • Screen and qualify systems for TWT and SSPA compatibility.
  • Generate problem reports and document failures, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Follow engineering procedures, test processes, manufacturing instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Support Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), environmental chamber testing, and burn-in activities.
  • Troubleshoot production and customer service (RMA) units and support root cause investigations.
  • Work safely with high-voltage and high-power amplifier systems while following established safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Project Management teams to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Manage multiple test stations and priorities while maintaining production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Safely lift, transport, and position units throughout the manufacturing process using lift tables, carts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Support 5S, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives, and other duties as assigned by management.

What You’ll Need

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, and/or 3–5 years of relevant electronic test and troubleshooting experience.
  • Hands-on experience with power supplies, HPA, HPM, TWT, SSPA, satellite communications, or similar high-power electronic systems.
  • Proficient in the use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, programmable power supply, clamp meters, and related instrumentation.
  • Ability to perform system-level testing, troubleshooting, repair, and root cause analysis of high-voltage, and high-power electronic hardware.
  • Strong understanding of electronic fundamentals including DC and AC circuits, Ohm’s Law (voltage, current, resistance), power calculations (watts, efficiency), voltage divider and resistor network calculations, and understanding of transformers and filters.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, technical documentation, and test procedures.
  • Experience generating RF test data, plots, and technical documentation, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard computer applications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain quality and schedule commitments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Eligibility to work on U.S. export-controlled programs, with experience supporting high-reliability aerospace, defense, communications, or similar products.
