Job Description

Location: Kansas City, MO Salary: $42.00 USD Hourly - $45.00 USD Hourly Description: We are hiring a Special Education teacher in Kansas City! Position Summary The Special Education Teacher provides specialized educational services in accordance with district policies and procedures. Responsibilities include case management, mentoring, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, supervising and scheduling paraeducators, participating in problem-solving teams, and creating behavior intervention plans. This role also involves scheduling and facilitating IEP meetings. Teachers in this position may also serve in related capacities such as Process Coordinator, Academic Evaluator, Case Manager, or Teacher of Record, depending on client needs. Work arrangements (in-person, hybrid, or virtual) are determined by client and company requirements. Supervised Employees May include paraeducators, new teachers, or other staff as determined by the district. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Holds or is eligible for a teaching license with appropriate endorsement Demonstrated knowledge of subject content, specialized curriculum, and individualized teaching methodologies Proficiency in using multimedia and assistive technology to support diverse learning needs Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, administrators, and parents Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal abilities Position-Specific Responsibilities Prepare and maintain written documentation (e.g., progress reports, IEPs, notices of meetings, prior written notices) Communicate professionally and clearly in all written and oral formats Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure compliance with Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) standards Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to deliver timely, high-quality services Complete all required documentation and billing per district policies Apply current research and best practices to inform instructional decisions Supervise and guide district personnel (e.g., paraprofessionals, new teachers) in compliance with state, federal, and company guidelines Perform additional duties as assigned #Education By providing your phone number, you consent to: (1) receive automated text messages and calls from the Judge Group, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively "Judge") to such phone number regarding job opportunities, your job application, and for other related purposes.
