Job Description
A Day in the Life:
The Elevator Operation is responsible for performing all operations functions relating to the elevator, control room, weighing/grading, rail loading activities, and housekeeping. Employee may also be responsible for assisting in performing routine maintenance of equipment.
Position Details:
Standard but flexible due to nature of facility needs with overtime required during peak business periods
Pay: $20-$25 an hour, plus overtime, train load bonus, and annual bonus
What You'll Be Doing:
- Actively participate in safety programs and inspections
- Control room duties, which include continuous monitoring of equipment and processes via computer monitored programs
- Perform all tasks relating to receiving and blending of grain
- Perform weighing and grading of all commodities and input customer information into One Weigh software
- Work outdoors in the elevator-loading/unloading trucks and rail cars
- Work as a team member, motivating others to function as a team
- Maintain a high level of customer service
- Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks
- Routine housekeeping
- Operate mobile equipment and miscellaneous hand tools
- Perform all other assigned duties as required and/or instructed by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work safely
- Must demonstrate dependability and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years' experience working in grain elevator
- Computer skill experience
