Email Marketing Specialist Contract (5 Months + Possible extension)Washington, D.C (Hybrid)Pay Rate: $35.46- 39.01 an hour on W2 (DOE)Job Description The Email Marketing Specialist plans, builds, and executes targeted email campaigns to engage customers, nurture leads, and drive sales. This role manages multiple campaigns simultaneously, ensuring timely execution, quality, compliance, and optimal performance.Key Responsibilities
- Create and deploy mobile-optimized newsletters, promotional campaigns, and automated email sequences using email marketing platforms and design templates.
- Manage approximately 10 email campaigns simultaneously across various stages of development and execution.
- Conduct A/B testing of subject lines, calls-to-action, and send times to optimize campaign performance.
- Coordinate the placement of promotional banners within newsletters.
- Perform minor HTML edits and updates to email campaigns; full email coding is not required.
- Manage assignments, timelines, and project communications using online project management tools.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure accurate rendering across devices, legal compliance, and proper tracking metadata.
- Prepare and distribute campaign proofs to stakeholders for review, feedback, and approval.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
- 2–3 years of professional experience, preferably in a large corporate environment with high-volume workloads and tight deadlines.
- Associate degree or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training.
- Strong project management, communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Highly process-oriented with the ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of email marketing platforms and related tools such as Braze, Salesforce, and Squarespace.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Jira or similar project management tools.
- Familiarity with Photoshop, HTML editing tools, and basic HTML coding.
- Flexibility to support occasional breaking-news or time-sensitive email campaigns as needed.
