Position Overview
Ensure guests receive high quality healthcare while staying at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with care for sick or injured campers and staff daily
- Respond to and/or assist with emergencies as they occur
- Assist with mental health first aid when necessary
- Assist with opening and closing procedures in the Summit Health Lodge
- On-call rotation
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions while maintaining
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Required: Emergency Medical Technician Certification and valid NREMT Certification
- Required: Able to obtain WV State EMT Certification (Provided)
- Required training: HazMat, Bloodborne Pathogens, Mass Casualty Incident (MCI)
- Preferred: Mental Health First Aid Certification
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Summit UTV and vehicle permit and
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
Physical & Practical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to100pounds
- Stamina to repeatedly lift, bend, and kneel
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
