$21.75-$28.00/hour based on experience + $2.00/hour overnight differential + $1.00/hour weekend differential

Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center (ECVMC) is a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team. You'll work hands-on with emergency cases while collaborating closely with Surgery, Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation services in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Schedule Options:

• 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Thursday-Saturday)

• 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Thursday-Saturday)

• 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM (Thursday-Saturday)

• 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Sunday-Wednesday)

What You'll Do:

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will triage incoming emergency patients and support their care throughout their visit. You'll work closely with emergency veterinarians to assist with assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures while utilizing advanced technical skills including phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, patient monitoring, and anesthesia support. You'll perform laboratory testing, process diagnostic samples, administer medications and treatments, maintain accurate medical records in EzyVet, and provide exceptional communication and education to clients regarding their pet's condition, treatment plans, and follow-up care. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse emergency caseload while collaborating closely with our Surgery, Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation teams to deliver outstanding patient care.

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience

• Emergency, critical care, or specialty medicine experience preferred

• RVT, CVT, or LVT strongly preferred

• Strong technical skills including venipuncture and catheter placement

• Excellent communication and client service skills

• Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced emergency environment

• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
