REPORTS TO: Office Manager and Lead Recruiter

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday- Friday
  • 7:00am- 3:30pm
  • Must be flexible to attend off site job fairs and conferences, at different hours or weekends.

This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Employment & Benefits Specialist supports the company's workforce by managing full life-cycle recruitment of hourly non-skilled positions, benefits administration, and general HR functions. This role will be responsible for initiation of benefits for new and existing employees, educating and guiding employees through the enrollment process, and clerical duties associated with benefits. Recruitment and onboarding to include applicant screening, maintaining the ATS, reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates and making hiring recommendations to senior management. Support employees by addressing basic HR inquiries and escalating issues when necessary to the Office Manager. This role is onsite, no remote work. Hours are 7:00 am- 3:30 pm. Must be flexible to attend off site job fairs and conferences, at different hours or weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & TASK:

  • Administration of benefits for new and existing employees
  • Guide employees through benefit enrollment options
  • Handle employee questions associated with benefits
  • Recruits and sources passive and active candidates
  • Operates and uses ATS within Paylocity
  • Screens and interviews candidates (virtually using Microsoft Teams and in person)
  • Makes recommendation to senior management
  • Communicates professionally with applicants
  • Attends career fairs throughout the area to include weekends and nights.
  • Meets weekly and monthly hiring goals
  • Additional administrative duties as required

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Two + years of experience in HR, benefits, and recruitment
  • Proficient knowledge of computers and Microsoft office
  • Strong organizational skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Ability to use upper and lower extremities
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to walk throughout the shipyard for guided tours and new hire processes.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Normal level of visual acuity needed. Must be able to understand and follow directions. Normal hearing level needed. Hand-eye coordination required.
