Job Description

Our client, a leading global technology and entertainment company, is looking to hire an Engagement Optimization Lead – Live Sports & Entertainment for a Cupertino, CA position.Pay Rate Range:$70/hr to $78/hr on w2(all inclusive), depending on experienceJob Duration; - 12 Months

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of content, analytics, product, sports, and entertainment. The Engagement Optimization Lead will help measure and improve how content is presented to audiences, with a particular focus on an expanding live sports portfolio.

You will use engagement and performance data to evaluate content presentation strategies, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop actionable recommendations in partnership with Product, Analytics, Editorial, and Business teams.

The role is fast-paced and highly cross-functional, requiring strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, strategic thinking, and the ability to move quickly in response to changing content and live-event priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and monitor key content engagement and performance metrics and identify leading indicators of audience behavior.
  • Analyze content presentation and merchandising approaches to determine their effectiveness in driving viewership and engagement.
  • Help drive improvements in key engagement KPIs, including impression-to-tap and impression-to-play rates.
  • Evaluate engagement across both live and on-demand sports content.
  • Translate detailed analysis into clear, actionable business, product, and editorial recommendations.
  • Partner closely with Product, Analytics, Editorial, and Business teams to optimize content presentation.
  • Develop and communicate strategic insights for short- and long-term roadmap decisions.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, Keynotes, and business review materials.
  • Present analyses, findings, and recommendations to senior executives and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor competitive approaches to content discovery, merchandising, and live sports presentation across streaming services.
  • Manage multiple cross-functional projects and initiatives with minimal direction.
  • Support a focused test-and-learn approach to continually improve content engagement.
  • Stay current on trends across streaming, entertainment, sports, and digital content experiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical role, ideally within a subscription, streaming, media, entertainment, or digital business.
  • Demonstrated ability to derive business insights and recommendations from detailed analysis of content presentation, content management, audience behavior, or engagement data.
  • Strong understanding of streaming services, digital entertainment products, and content discovery/engagement strategies.
  • Experience analyzing or working with engagement, viewership, audience, or content performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Strong experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership or executives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • Genuine interest in sports, streaming, entertainment, and digital content experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with or analyzing engagement data associated with professional team sports.
  • Experience with soccer/football, baseball, or other season-long professional sports.
  • Familiarity with motorsport and premium live-event content, including race-weekend or international broadcast environments.
  • Experience translating sports rights, live-event, or programming data into editorial or product recommendations.
  • Experience leading significant cross-functional initiatives within a large, complex organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority.
  • Experience balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • MBA preferred.
