Job Description

Aerospace is at a turning point — costs are rising, supply chains are strained, and old ways of building can’t keep up. At Neon Aero, we’re breaking that mold. We move fast, think big, and combine start-up agility with aerospace expertise to design, build, and scale aircraft in ways the industry has never seen. Our team leverages automation, AI-driven tools, and a fully connected digital backbone to accelerate innovation and reduce barriers to production.

Here, you won’t just take a job — you’ll help reinvent how the world flies. If you’re ready to solve complex problems, push technology further, and work alongside some of the brightest minds in aerospace, this is your chance to make a real impact.

Neon is seeking an Engineer - Propeller Design to support development of propeller systems from concept through certification and production. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for an engineer who performs well in high-standard, fast-moving environments and wants to help deliver aerospace hardware with speed, rigor, and technical depth.

Why This Role Matters

  • Contribute directly to propeller system design, analysis, certification support, and production introduction.
  • Help drive technical quality, compliance, and manufacturability.
  • Work across engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to solve real product development challenges.
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment where ownership, execution, and attention to detail matter.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical or aerospace system design, analysis, development, or production support.
  • Experience supporting concepting, designing, and introducing a system into production is desired.
  • Experience supporting or transitioning a design into a manufacturing environment or other technical hands-on experience is desired.
  • Understanding of product development, including design, analysis, testing, certification, and production support.
  • Familiarity with aerospace certification techniques, terminology, and accepted practices is desired.
  • Experience supporting FAA or military qualification of systems is helpful.
  • Familiarity with rotating machinery, propellers, rotors, VTOL systems, or traditional aircraft applications is helpful.
  • Experience with CAD, engineering drawings, GD&T, model-based definition, CFD, and structural analysis is helpful.
  • Strong engineering judgment, communication, problem-solving, and execution skills.
  • Ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments as needed.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to comply with export control, ITAR, and related security requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience in aggressive product development environments with high technical standards.
  • Experience supporting certification or qualification of aerospace systems.
  • Strong interest in mechanical systems, aircraft, and manufacturing.

Why Join Us

  • Work alongside elite engineering talent and innovators from across aerospace and tech.
  • Be part of a team moving faster than the industry standard.
  • Shape solutions that are lower-cost, autonomous, and scalable — the future of aviation.
  • Competitive compensation, including equity participation, growth opportunities, and full health benefits (health, vision, dental, 401(k)) designed to support you in and out of work.
