Engineer I - Water Resource Design (Geotechnical)

Freese and Nichols has a great opportunity for a current grad, May 2026 and August 2026 new grad to launch their career in our Dallas, Fort Worth, or Houston offices! In this role, you will work in heavy civil infrastructure design - dams, reservoirs, levees, canals, and flood protection systems.

What your day looks like -

You will assist with geotechnical designs and reports, including learning slope stability, seepage and settlement modeling. Interfacing with internal and external clients to develop strong working relationships will also be a part of your day. You will partner with others to complete tasks by collecting and correlating information to assist in completing projects under the guidance of a Project Engineer and within the time and schedule allocations agreed upon by the Group Manager.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering or similar program

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship Experience

• EIT or acquire your EIT within 1 year of joining the team

• Student organization involvement, especially leadership roles
