THE WORK

The Global Sustainment (GS) team at Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) in Ventura, CA, is seeking an Engineering Aid to support the MK 41 Logistics Support Facility. In this role you will work alongside experienced electrical engineers to assist with failure analysis, troubleshooting, repair, and retesting of VMS components, helping return hardware to Code A status for the U.S. Navy and partner navies. You will also be responsible for the site's configuration management to ensure all processes and procedures conform to the latest revisions. Tasks also include working closely with property management and meteorology to ensure all tools on the floor are tagged, calibrated, and in working order, removing and replacing when necessary, following the Standard Operating Procedure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the investigation of LM and USN inquiries and repairs related to VLS system repairs, subsystems, and components including pulling and analyzing data and drawings, performing repairs, conducting testing, configuration management verification, and preparing results to present to the customer.
  • Providing routine support to the engineering team for LM and USN program offices through Teams and in-person meetings, daily tag-ups and priority listings to ensure program requirements are met.
  • Helping maintain test equipment and assisting in property inventory and metrology events such as the annual in-house calibration and inventory events by recording data, updating locations and assisting with the logistics of each event.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of electrical engineering solutions that improve sustainment processes through Standard Operating Procedure review and updates, initiating Process Review Boards and implementing change once reviewed and approved.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to apply standard processes and tools, ensuring consistent and efficient support for the GS mission.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate can read and understand drawings and diagrams, can conduct physical and electronic tests on electronic assemblies and subassemblies, disassembly and reassembly of electronic assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Able to follow and execute procedures, standards, and sequences.
  • Capable of developing innovative solutions to issues that may arise during the troubleshoot and repair process.
  • Candidate has 2 or more years of related experience

Desired Skills:

  • MK41 VLS System Maintenance Technician(SMT) or Test Director(TD) Certification
  • MK41 VLS test equipment knowledge.
  • Experience working with NAVSEA and NAVSUP customers.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: Non- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $51,000 - $89,930. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $58,700 - $97,750. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
