Job Summary:
The Engineering Analyst is responsible for projects which vary widely in technical complexity and project timeframes. Assisting Engineers with new equipment specification and installation, in-house equipment design and fabrication, process upgrade and automation, facility upgrades, tool & die support, maintenance, and process manufacturing workflows.
Essential Job Functions:
- Promote safety and continuous improvement throughout the facility in order to achieve overall business objectives and goals.
- Work closely with production team to identify opportunities for improvement in the production process to improve worker safety and process efficiency.
- Review of manufacturing processes for cost control and manufacturing flexibility.
- Analyze equipment capabilities and limitations in order to methodically improve processes.
- Process manufacturing workflows in SAP for quotes, new parts, and new sizes by reviewing engineering drawings and assigning accurate routing times aligned with process requirements and production capabilities.
- Develop, validate, and update standard labor times for manufacturing operations based on data gathered.
- Conduct detailed time studies on the shop floor to analyze current processes and identify areas for improvement.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Process improvement experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
2. Hands on Experience in Microsoft Office products, as well as Knowledge on ERP systems (SAP or similar)
3. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
4. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
5. Strong time management and organizational skills
6. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and to promote Continuous Improvement
7. Self-driven and results oriented
8. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Education and Experience:
Working towards Associate/BS Degree in an engineering field recommended 2 – 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred (metal fabrication a plus) Exposure to Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred
