Engineering Analyst II –Data Governance Duration: Through 01/04/2027, with potential extension based on performance and business needs Location: Houston, TX, United States (Onsite, 0% Remote) Work Schedule: Hybrid (On-site: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday | Remote: Wednesday, Friday) Position Overview The Engineering Analyst II –Data Governance supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance programs to ensure the quality, accessibility, and compliance of organizational data assets. This role focuses on data managed by the Data & Systems Strategy (D&SS) department. The position serves as a key liaison between the Asset Information Management team, field operations, engineering, Technical Information Systems, and compliance teams, promoting best practices in data management and fostering a culture of data stewardship across teams involved in asset management, operations, and compliance. Key Responsibilities Implement and monitor data governance best practices, leveraging established frameworks. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability for asset data. Oversee data quality initiatives for pipeline asset information, including profiling, cleansing, and remediation activities. Ensure D&SS data management practices align with industry standards and best practices (e.G., ISO, ISA, CFIHOS). Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation for asset data. Maintain governance documents, processes, and digital workspace environments (SharePoint), including workflows related to asset-related nomenclature. Lead awareness sessions on data governance in the pipeline industry and facilitate cross-functional working groups. Monitor and report on data governance metrics and the effectiveness of implemented controls. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related disciplines within the energy sector. Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data quality tools. Knowledge of pipeline industry regulations (PHMSA), standards, and data management best practices. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders. Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and compliance. Preferred Skills Experience with pipeline asset management systems, GIS, or records management platforms. Proficiency in SharePoint design/management and PowerApps (forms and workflows). Experience using Power BI for reporting and visualization. Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts in asset-centric organizations. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, particularly for safety-critical infrastructure data.
