Job Description
Job Title: Dev/Research Engineer 2Location: Mossville, IL 61552 (On-Site)Duration: 24 Months Daily Schedule: 7.30AM to 4.00PMJob Description:Position s Contributions to Work Group: - Test engineer is a key role in engine development to provide successful execution of the test plan. - Effective Test cell and engine troubleshooting helps to minimize downtime and improve productivity.- Individual will regularly review look ahead of test plan with senior engineers and prepare for engine and test cell setup.Why this Role?- Growing dual fuel development work experience provides unique opportunity to work on latest engine technology. - This position requires engineer to work with experienced facility team and global engineers to ensure program progress.- Individual with ready to work on analytical problem solving and enjoys hands on asks will experience satisfying and engaging results on a daily basis.Typical Day or Week in the RoleTypical task breakdown:- Support/direct/mentor test cell operators running engine tests.- Troubleshoot both engine and test cell issues.- Coordinate with support function teams like facilities, instrumentation, mechanic etc. for issue resolution. - Document test cell and engine hardware issues.Interaction with team: - This position will be required to attend daily standup meeting with core team as well as hand off meeting for continuous operation.- Individual will provide updates, participate in troubleshooting discussion, help reach to consensus on action plan and communicate results to technical team.Team Structure- Team has ~15 engineers from entry level to 20 years experience in various roles supporting test operation, engine hardware validation, and performance/emission data analysis.Work environment: - We have developed a training process for test operation that will ease the onboarding experience.- While conducting daily/hourly test activities is a fast-paced environment, there is opportunity for flexible schedule framework depending on test activities.Candidate RequirementsEducation & Experience Required: - Years of experience: 2-4 years- Degree requirement: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering- Do you accept internships as job experience: Yes- Are there past or additional job titles or roles that would provide comparable background to this role: Testing, Data analysis, Hands on experience with large diesel engines.Top 3 Skills- Troubleshooting Technical Problems- Analytical Thinking- Accuracy and Attention to detailsAdditional Technical Skills (Required)- Hands-on experience with mechanical/electrical test setup and data acquisition equipment- Proficiency of Microsoft tools(Desired) - Understanding of diesel engine- Data analysis/visualization tools like Matlab, Canape, DIAdem- Familiar with emission/ measurement equipment like Horiba, AVL, Allen BradleySoft Skills(Required)- Self-starter, Strong verbal, and written communication- Enjoys fast paced, hand on work environment.- Quick learner and attention to details- Analytical and problem-solving ability(Desired) - Innovative/creative technical solution- Lead projects and extended team members
