Engineering Buyer
Manufacturing company in West Chester, PA is hiring a Buyer to process purchase orders, manage material receipts, process inventory transactions, and work with and negotiate with suppliers. Responsibilities include:
Negotiating and managing costs and lead times of procured components and assemblies from multiple vendors both international and domestic
Managing daily and scheduled system transactions to keep inventory accurate, including PO entry, PO receipt, and order fulfillment
Establishing costs and negotiating those costs as appropriate
Working with product management to help supply necessary costs and as needed information
Working with the engineering team to supply accurate costs from which to build custom, engineered proposals for fixed systems
Building a working knowledge of company's product offerings to accurately communicate with suppliers
Identifying cost saving alternatives with suppliers using technical documentation
Identifying alternative component suppliers across the product portfolio dealing with domestic and international suppliers
Collaborating with supply planner to optimize warehouse organization, etc.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience with technical, engineered products, ideally component level up to and including design and build multi-component, fabricated engineered systems
4 year degree preferred
Strong experience with computers and ERP systems (Cloudsuite preferred)
Experience with negotiation and procurement of components such as valves, pumps, pipe and fittings, castings, machined components
Experience working with third party suppliers in engineered equipment, hardware, and technical products
Inventory management/warehouse operations knowledge
