Engineering Design Assistant

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Four (4) years of full-time, high-volume commercial projects of journeyman-level experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Programs and/or Google apps.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a supervisory or foreman role managing 3-5 tradespeople. Familiarity with lighting and circuits. Experience working with complex construction blueprints and specifications. Experience with project budgeting and scheduling principles. Prior experience in planning and/or crew administration. Experience in the supervision of complex construction projects.

Brief Description of Duties:

Working under general supervision, the highly skilled Journeyman designs, fabricates, and constructs a wide variety of complex models, devices, and high-volume commercial projects from limited written or oral instructions. This role balances hands-on technical execution - specifically within high-precision laboratory environments - with on-site team leadership, project scheduling, and budget tracking to ensure tracking to ensure all assignments align with their intended design and operational purpose.

Duties:

Technical Proficiency & Hands-On Execution:

• Expertly read, interpret, and implement blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide on-site work and ensure technical accuracy.
• Perform high quality, hands-on skilled labor, primarily focusing on laboratory construction of advanced difficulty and precision design.
• Verify the work of other tradesmen, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and project specification.

Project Leadership & Administration:

• Serve as the on-site point person for project execution, ensuring all work aligns with technical and quality goals.
• Monitor and track project progress against the established timeline and budget, proactively reporting deviations.
• Manage and coordinate daily activities of assigned tradespeople and laborers to maintain high efficiency and quality
• May assign and check tasks performed by other assigned to assist in the work when completing large projects or programs.
• Other duties as assigned
