Engineering Design Checker

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Engineering Design Checker in Chandler, Arizona for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position supports the Mechanical & Energetics department by checking drawing and design packages for compliance with industry and military standards. The role focuses on design review, GD&T interpretation, 3D model verification, parametric drawing updates, and coordination with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and vendors.

Required Skills

• Experience using Siemens NX, CATIA, or other applicable 3D CAD systems
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Recognized expertise in GD&T and the ability to resolve drawing interpretation issues
• Experience reviewing drawing and design packages for proper content and standards compliance
• Ability to check designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and economy of fabrication
• Experience reviewing tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and fitment on assembly prints
• Experience verifying 3D models submitted to manufacturing using NX and Teamcenter
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows, NX, and Teamcenter
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under schedule pressure
• U.S. citizenship required

What You’ll Do

• Review mechanical drawings with appropriate personnel to verify completed work, dimensions, materials, and quantities
• Check drawing and design packages for compliance with applicable industry and military standards
• Perform mechanical modeling using Siemens NX managed with Teamcenter
• Create and revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards
• Review tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and assembly fitment
• Verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and vendors
• Supervise and direct staff activities as requested
• Perform related duties as assigned in support of the design and drafting group

Pay

• $62.18/hour
