Job Description
A leading high purity water systems manufacturer is seeking a full-time Summer Engineering Intern to support engineering, manufacturing, and technical services teams. This paid internship runs May through August at 40 hours per week and is designed for a rising senior interested in gaining hands-on experience with real-world system design, fabrication, and validation. The ideal candidate is someone the company could potentially hire upon graduation if a full-time opportunity becomes available. Preference is given to candidates local to North Carolina or those with a clear reason to be in the area for the summer, as relocation assistance is not provided.
Engineering Intern Responsibilities
- Learn and support the responsibilities of a Project or Design Engineer under senior supervision
- Assist in designing and quoting high purity water purification systems
- Support development of RO and EDI skids and complete water system layouts
- Produce P&IDs and equipment layout drawings using AutoCAD
- Assist in preparation of equipment specifications, process descriptions, submittals, and turnover documents
- Support creation of validation documentation including URS, FRS, FAT, SAT, IQ, and OQ
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing, validation, and technical services teams
- Assist sales team with technical documentation and quotation support
- Participate in hands-on shop and system integration exposure to understand fabrication and assembly processes
- Perform general administrative and documentation support tasks within the engineering department
Engineering Intern Requirements
- Rising senior enrolled in a bachelors of engineering role
- High GPA required
- Working knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or MATLAB
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Adobe Acrobat
