Job Description
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Fully Onsite)
Introduction:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced technician responsible for test equipment setup, tear down, maintenance, data collection, and logistics. The role requires ensuring the engineering service request operates reliably and satisfies the customer's end-use requirements. Experience in customer interaction and management is essential.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Self-motivated and accountable in a fast-paced, independent environment
- Creative and methodical thinking regarding technical issues
- Prompt response to customer inquiries and effective issue resolution
- Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask, manage time, prioritize, and work unsupervised
- Basic understanding of electronics and lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, DMM, signal generator, signal analyzer)
- Basic understanding of MS Office, PDFs, and ability to read schematics, BOM, and documentation
- Prior work experience in a related industry
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to read schematics and set up various cable connectivity types to test equipment and DUT
- Basic user-level understanding of Unix/Windows and Networking with Enterprise Switches and Routers
- Experience with environmental chamber operation and support
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Responsible for test board and equipment setup, tear down, maintenance, data collection, and logistics
- Maintain lab standards for safety, cleanliness, and organization
- Deploy and troubleshoot test boards running automated tests
- Remove and redeploy test board setups regularly
- Collect data for critical lab metrics and track progress
- Perform test equipment inventory, calibration, and maintenance
- Configure electro-mechanical component installations using BOM, drawings, and schematics
- Perform electro-mechanical repair and troubleshoot wiring
- Communicate effectively and recommend documentation changes
- Perform self-inspection according to checklists
- Identify and document problems, bringing them to the supervisor's attention
- Check equipment for calibration status and expired materials
- Follow ESD and general housekeeping procedures
