Engineering Manager- Water

Overview: The Manager of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing engineering services, capital project planning, and utility infrastructure development throughout Southern Delaware. This role will manage a team of engineers, technicians, and inspectors, and leads efforts in utility system developments and improvements, design and construction support, and cross-functional project coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering planning, design, permitting, and construction oversight for water utility infrastructure projects
• Develop and manage capital project budgets, schedules, and program goals
• Supervise and mentor engineering staff; support employee development and performance evaluations
• Oversee external consultants, contractors, and design reviews
• Serve as a Licensed PE to sign/seal project documentation
• Lead initiatives to improve engineering processes and implement technical tools
• Use GIS, MS Project, Oracle WAM, and other systems to support engineering operations
• Ensure project and contract close-out requirements are met
• Represent the company in industry groups, public meetings, and regulatory processes
• Provide emergency response support and technical leadership during outages or incidents

Qualifications: Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering is required Active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in design, construction estimating, contracting, inspection, and administration - preferably in water utilities 4+ years of supervisory experience Proficiency in MS Office, ArcGIS, MS Project, CAD, and Oracle enterprise systems Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills Ability to access construction sites, perform light lifting, and support field work when needed Valid driver's license
