[What you will be working on]

You will lead engineering teams responsible for building and scaling weather information dissemination platforms that deliver forecasts, warnings, and meteorological data to diverse user communities across Singapore and the region.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining technical strategies for multi-channel weather information delivery including web platforms, mobile APIs, and direct data feeds that serve both public and professional users.

  • Partnering with government agencies, media organisations, and regional meteorological centres to develop scalable API solutions and data exchange protocols compliant with WMO standards.

  • Building long-term technical roadmaps for public weather services, emergency alert systems, and international meteorological data exchange platforms.

  • Leading engineering teams developing high-traffic web applications, mobile-responsive platforms, and real-time alert distribution systems.

  • Collaborating with UX designers and meteorological communicators to ensure weather information is accessible and actionable for diverse user groups from the

  • general public to emergency responders.

  • Establishing engineering practices that ensure reliable delivery of time-sensitive weather warnings and maintain service availability during extreme weather events.

  • Driving technical initiatives that enhance Singapore's role as a regional meteorological hub and WMO data exchange centre.

[What we are looking for]

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working on large-scale, high-availability software systems that have operated at scale

  • Experience in modern full-stack web application technologies; experience in modern front-end engineering like

  • Next.js/React.js/React Native and Golang/NodeJS (TypeScript) on the backend is preferred

  • Strong technical leadership skills with ability to guide teams through complex technical challenges

  • Passion for engineering excellence and understanding that software engineering is a team sport

  • 2+ years of experience coaching developers and helping them enhance their performance and grow their careers

  • Ability to guide a team to achieve important goals together

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience building and scaling high-traffic web applications and API platforms that serve diverse user communities

  • Understanding of content delivery networks, real-time messaging systems, or alert distribution platforms

  • Background in public service delivery, accessibility requirements, or user-centric design

  • Experience with mobile-responsive development and cross-platform compatibility

  • Familiarity with emergency response systems or time-sensitive information delivery

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with meteorological data dissemination or weather information systems

  • Understanding of public communication, emergency alert protocols, or international data exchange

  • Knowledge of WMO standards, data exchange protocols, or regional meteorological networks

  • Background working with media organisations, government agencies, or public-facing services
