Job Description
The Engineering Manager is leading and directing engineering personnel and technical projects to support new part development, production readiness, and customer delivery commitments. This role is highly hands‑on, requiring daily engagement on the shop floor, strong project leadership, and the ability to balance technical execution with people development. Client DetailsThis organization is a U.S.-based manufacturing company supporting demanding aerospace and industrial customers with complex, custom metal components. The operation is fast‑paced, engineering‑driven, and focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration between engineering and production. DescriptionIn this role you will report directly into the Director of Engineering and be responsible for: Managing and developing a team of engineers while providing clear technical direction and leadership
Leading new part development projects from concept through first article and production launch
Overseeing engineering project planning, prioritization, staffing, and execution across multiple concurrent programs
Driving standardized engineering practices for design, NPD, documentation, estimating, and ERP usage
Reviewing and approving engineering estimates to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and cost alignment
Collaborating closely with manufacturing to support spinning, machining, heat treat, and shop‑floor development activities
Providing hands‑on technical support on the production floor to resolve issues and remove bottlenecks
Improving engineering efficiency and consistency through ERP utilization, process documentation, and best practices
Mentoring and training early‑career engineers to build capability, accountability, and bench strength
Supporting continuous improvement, value engineering, and cost reduction initiatives
Presenting technical information to customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Managing engineering facilities, documentation control, and drawing standards ProfileThe successful candidate will have:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred8-10+ years of engineering experience, including engineering leadership or management
Proven ability to manage projects end‑to‑end with on‑time, on‑budget delivery
Hands‑on manufacturing experience; aerospace manufacturing preferred but not required
Strong people leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing younger teams
Proficiency in SolidWorks and MS Office; ERP system experience required
Working knowledge of GD&T and common fabrication processes (machining, forming, heat treat, welding)Self‑starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Job OfferThe candidate will receive:Competitive salary and potential for salary growth
