Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead product design, development, and manufacturing support for Sunrise Technologies and Ripley Lighting products. Reporting directly to the VP/General Manager, this role oversees all engineering functions, driving innovation, product quality, and operational support across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all engineering activities, including product development, design, and manufacturing support
- Oversee electronic circuit design, PCB development, firmware/software programming, and digital/analog systems
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers across Application, Manufacturing, and Product Development functions
- Drive new product development from concept through production
- Provide technical leadership in embedded systems, PCB troubleshooting, automated test systems, and product validation
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and cross-functional teams to support customer and business objectives
- Support manufacturing processes through troubleshooting, process improvements, and production efficiency initiatives
- Ensure compliance with technical standards, quality requirements, and engineering documentation practices
- Coordinate with offshore suppliers and support global design collaboration
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of electronics engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong background in PCB design, firmware/software programming, and digital/analog electronics
- Experience with embedded systems, manufacturing environments, and new product development
- Knowledge of radio control systems and high-reliability product design preferred
- Familiarity with ERP systems and quality control standards
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and presentation skills
Work Environment: Combination of office and manufacturing environments with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods required.
