Job Description
Engineering Product Development Intern Under the direction of the Manager of R&D, this Summer Internship will be primarily supporting maintenance of business projects (MOB) with some potential support on New Product Development (NPD) projects. This position will have some exposure on executing against all requirements of the Design History File (DHF) including creating all product development documentation and testing the requirements of the design/product. This individual will experience collaboration between the Research and Development groups, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Planning/Logistics, Packaging/Labeling and Outside Partners.As an Intern, you will be held accountable to completing the following projects and work this summer:
- Compiling technical documentation including protocols, reports, etc.*
- Contributing to the R&D teams new product development*
- Medical Device Design Control*
- Mechanical Testing*
- Web based product/competitor research and analysis
- Collaborating with multi-cross functional teams*
- Asking lots of questions*
- Having a drive to learn and explore the unknown*
- Compiling technical documentation including protocols, reports, etc.
- Technical Writing*
- Engineering Design*
- Mechanics of Materials
- Minitab basic statistical analysis*
- Communication both written, oral and presentation*
- Computer Aided Design CAD with SolidWorks*
- Rapid Proto typing*
- Understanding the Medical Device Design Control*
- Laboratory best practices Good Documentation Practice (GDP)
