Caterpillar's Building Construction Product (BCP) Division is hiring an Engineering Project Team Leader on the Attachments Product Support Team. Where you will support all attachments including but not limited to: Buckets, Forks, Cold Planers, Couplers, Augers, Trenchers, Wheel Saws, Mulchers, Grapples, Thumbs, Hammers, Rakes, Snow Pushes, Plows, Snow Blowers, and Brushcutters.

This position will cover structural, hydraulic, electric, and software, as well as understanding the application of the WT in a variety of industries. Provide technical leadership on BCP highly complex attachments and systems, identifying and resolving functional deficiencies through structured analysis, corrective action, and cross functional collaboration. Additionally, this position will lead product improvement efforts across design, manufacturing, service, and field environments to ensure product quality and performance throughout the product lifecycle.

Role Summary:

This is an individual contributor role within the Product Support and Quality job family; the incumbent is expected to provide technical direction, coaching, and influence entry level service and engineering roles as needed.

What You'll Do (Job Duties)

Primary Responsibilities- New Product Introduction (NPI). This position will own and execute all NPI service engineering elements, including:

  • Service audits

  • Publication development (OMM, Parts Books, Service Manuals, etc.

  • Follow the NPI Excellence Process

  • Field follow execution

Secondary Responsibilities- Product Performance & Problem Resolution, Current Production Support

  • Establish priorities for resolution based on customer impact, warranty exposure, and business risk.

  • Support Dealer Technical queries

  • Develop and execute field validation and test plans to confirm effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Support CPI service publication requirements

  • Support TCI process

  • Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.

  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

  • Team Management: Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product management environment.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical aptitude with deep product and systems knowledge. Understanding of software product support process.

  • Solid engineering background with demonstrated ability to resolve complex technical and field issues.

  • Understanding of Cat quality systems CPI/BIQ/PPRD/NPI issue management

  • Proven experience supporting NPI programs and current production products.

  • Strong communication, organization, and influence skills with the ability to lead without direct authority.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
