Summary
We are seeking an Engineering Technician to provide hands‑on engineering and manufacturing support for new product development and improvements to existing products. This role is heavily focused on equipment troubleshooting and maintenance (approximately 75% of the role), along with testing, documentation, and manufacturing support.
This is a 6‑month contract role with potential for conversion. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who can work independently in a regulated manufacturing environment and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
✅ Required / Mandatory Skills
- 2–4 years of experience as an Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Technician, or similar role
- Strong equipment troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance experience
- Ability to diagnose issues independently and document work accurately
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Mechanical aptitude with hands‑on experience installing, assembling, repairing, and maintaining production equipment
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations and minimizing equipment downtime
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Comfortable working onsite in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs, climb ladders, and perform hands‑on technical work
Nice to Have / Preferred Skills
- Medical device or packaging industry experience
- Cleanroom or controlled environment experience
- Experience with IQ, OQ, PQ (installation, operational, and process qualifications)
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA‑regulated environments
- Exposure to sterile barrier packaging, thermoforming, or sealing processes
- Experience with molding processes (silicone, injection, transfer molding)
- CAD or engineering drafting experience
- Experience creating work instructions, drawings, and technical documentation
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience in an engineering, test, or manufacturing technician role
- Willingness to learn new technologies and apply them to manufacturing processes
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment while maintaining detailed service records
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities
- Support validation testing, first article inspections, and documentation efforts
- Assist with design documentation, work instructions, and drawing creation
- Support manufacturing operations to meet quality, cost, and production targets
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchasing
- Maintain tooling, spare parts, and equipment readiness
